What is a bar code ribbon
For the barcode printer with heat transfer printing, a special ribbon is needed to print barcode and text information on the label. This special ribbon is commonly known as thermal transfer ribbon. In short, heat transfer printing is the process of transferring ink from carbon tape media to paper or film with heat and pressure. When the label passes through the printer's print head and roller, the ink is transferred to the label.
Composition of carbon belt:
Heat transfer carbon tape is a kind of polyester or other high density film coated with wax based, resin based or mixed ink on one side. The side without ink is coated with lubricant to prevent the wear and damage of the printing head, which is generally composed of front leading belt, original belt, back leading belt and shaft core. The handle and front leading belt are in front of the carbon belt, and the back leading belt is at the end of the first roll (some have no back leading belt).
Leader tape:
The front strap is usually transparent or other colors. It has the following functions:
